New residential supply sees dip | Bangkok Post: business


Samma Kitsin, director-general of the Real Estate Information Center, said this year will be the first year since 2011 that the total number of new residential supply launched in Greater Bangkok is lower than 100,000 units. In 2011, the total number of newly launched residential supply dropped by 31% to 82,600 units from 120,200 units in 2010. During the first nine months of 2016, the number of new residential units launched in Greater Bangkok totalled 70,200 units from 313 projects, down 8.7% from 76,900 units from 318 projects in the same period last year. Prasert Taedullayasatit, president of the Thai Condominium Association, disclosed a few weeks ago that the value of new residential supply by large listed developers planned for the fourth quarter alone was estimated at 150 billion baht. It will also play a major role in stimulating sentiment in the fourth quarter and next year," he said.
